Czar Wars - Episode 1 "Safe Schools" Chief Kevin Jennings
We will be looking at some Obama "Czars" in the next few weeks. This week we will be focusing on Kevin Jennings, the "Safe School" Chief formally employed by the Department of Education. His official title is the assistant deputy secretary in the Office of Safe and Drug Free Schools in the U.S. Department of Education. His appointment had no congressional oversight and apparently the White House vetting process has failed again.
Mr. Jennings is known for creating the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education network, which, "makes schools safe for all students, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity." He has also been documented as encouraging and not reporting that a 15 year old student was having homosexual relations with an older man as was required by state law, where Mr. Jennings was a teacher.
This man is now in a position where he can effect policies that can have a significant impact on our children. If you have trouble swallowing that this is all fact I encourage you to read the following articles:

Safe School Chief Encouraged Child Sex with Older Man
A Washington Times Editorial: At the President's Pleasure

These articles have numerous links to other sites and other sources of information to help you make a decision on this "czar." If what this guy preaches is what you want to have your children learn in school, then let him keep his job. However, if you believe that this guy is just another example of what is wrong with this country then stand up and write the president, write the secretary of education, write your representatives in Congress and the Senate. Make your voices heard. Our children are precious and as parents we have to do everything in our power to protect them, even if that enemy is our own government.

What makes America Great?
"If you ask me to name the proudest distinction of Americans, I would choose-because it contains all the others-the fact that they were the people who created the phrase 'to make money.' No other language or nation had ever used these words before; men had always thought of wealth as a static quantity-to be seized, begged, inherited, shared, looted or obtained as a favor. American were the first to understand that wealth has to be created. The words,'to make money,' hold the essence of human morality."
The above is an excerpt of a speech in the book, "Atlas Shrugged." A very true set of ideas. The American nation has had more success scientifically and technologically then any other nation in the history of the world. All this is due to the fact that our constitution, the best form of government men have produced, gives us that ability. The American man and woman have opportunities to do any type of work or profession they choose and to excel and become the leaders of their respective fields.
For the past 100 years there have been a group of people that have preached and continue to preach under the guise of, "Equality for all," that a man's mind and the profits it reaps are the property of others. How can this be? How can the ideas of a man be the property of society? How can the monetary profits of a man belong to a society? Writers like Marx and Engels over the years have demonized the American system. They preach that your mind doesn't belong to you nor the fruits of your labor, they belong to those less fortunate.
Who today is in control of America? Is it American Industrialist, who has done more for America and in most aspects, the world as a whole? Or is it the Social Justice experts, who preach that your ideas and the profits of your ideas belong to society as a whole? Think hard America. We have a president that preaches redistribution of wealth. We have a congress that wants to tax us to death to pay for government programs such as universal health care, when it is clear that health care is a service to be purchased. We have laws against monopolies "to even the playing field," and "to give others a chance," or "to spread the wealth." These ideas are un-American.
Has anyone ever seen a poor man offer anyone a job? No! We need to put aside the ideas of social justice and fairness. They do not exist. They cannot exist. We need to release the bonds which hold back our innovators, and our industrialist. Then we can see a restoration of the American dream, of men and women with ideas, of men and women with the means to make that idea into profits, those profits, in turn will become jobs, those jobs will then become someone else's money. This is the way we will revitalize America, it will work, but only if we as a people change our mindset. We need to elect people to government who will reduce the size of government, relax regulations and taxes, and return us to the true moral course, that of the constitutional framework of the founding fathers.

In Remembrance

Eight years ago today I was a Lance Corporal in the United States Marine Corps. I had begun this day like every other day. I was serving as my platoon's Training NCO (non-commissioned officer) and was organizing results from correspondence courses that our marines were taking to further their military and academic educations. Our platoon buffoon came down from the maintenance bay and told me that a plane had crashed into one of the towers of the world trade center. I told him to go and find some work to do and stop messing around. He replied that he was serious and if I didn't believe him I could go look for myself. Still not believing, I went up to the maintenance bay so I could see what was going on and then chew his rear end when I found out he was messing with me.
When I arrived in the maintenance office I could hardly believe what I was seeing. By this time both towers had been hit and were burning. I sat as I watched the towers fall and then I heard the report that the pentagon had been hit. Many of the marines, and at this time it was several who had gathered in that tiny office to see what was happening, decided that a good thing to do was to go back to the barracks and start packing. It was very clear to everyone that was present we would be going somewhere, so we may as well start getting ready.
There wasn't any of the platoon staff around, so we went to the barracks and found them in the company office gathered around a television just like we were. We told them why we came back to the barracks and what we planned to do and they said that was alright with them. So we began to pack. We filled our sea bags with all of our gear and waited. Someone had attacked us and killed 3,000 Americans, and as marines we couldn't tolerate that. We wanted to take the fight to whom ever had done this to us.
On September, 12 we had not gone anywhere, we did know who the enemy was at this point and we knew where we had to go to make them pay. We saw on the news, Americans, Democrats and Republicans, white and black, rich and poor demanding justice for the deaths of those 3,000 people from the World Trade Center.
I have never personally seen America more united in a common purpose then on that day. On that day we all stood together. That day race, religion, nor political affiliations mattered. That day America demanded justice for the wrongful deaths of 3,000 innocent people.
That is why I have this blog. To attempt in some way to unify us once again. To reintroduce to Americans the principles and values that have always set us apart from the rest of the world. To find a way for us to regain control of an out of control federal government, one that has been out of control for far longer then George W. Bush's presidency.
Americans are waking up. We are listening now to what is happening in Washington D.C. We now know that we need to pay attention to the things our leaders and their advisers say and believe. We know that increased government spending isn't the answer. We know that, nationwide, the U.S. congress' health care reform bill is unpopular in part because Americans are tired of congress passing and the president signing bills that we do not want implemented.
We again are finding that common ground. Unfortunately the subject of American ire is directed against its own government. But as Americans have done in the past, so we shall do now, we will fight for what is right and this time it will not be a war of battles but a war of principles and values. That is a war that the American people will always win, never matter how tough the foe nor how smart the adversary. We will overcome.
Think today on the soldiers, marines, sailors, and airmen who are putting their lives on the line so that we may be free. Think about those who died in the attacks on September 11, 2001. Think about the freedoms we enjoy. Think on the United States Constitution and the Declaration of Independence. Think on he principles and values that have made this country great.
I wish all of you well and pray you never forget that you are an American.

World's Smallest Political Alignment Quiz
I've taken this quiz before, but now having seen the effects of the liberal fascist/statist mode of govt, it appears I've gotten way more hardcore in support of liberty.
My only non-100% libertarian question is one that basically consists of "how the hell you gonna do it?"
There is a problem with the quiz and its results. Statist and liberal are the same thing, as the fundamental basis of modern liberalism is that they have no beliefs beyond pandering to emotion.
Jonah Goldberg rather eloquently illustrates this by pointing out that the basis of modern liberalism begins in the 19-teens with Woodrow Wilson and his cadre, who all believed they knew what was best. HG Wells coined the term "Liberal Fascism" to describe the progressives of the era - and meant it in glowing terms. The left was enamored with fascism and the trappings of ultimate power and still is - as evidenced by the bow to the Saudi king, the hug with Hugo Chavez, etc.
Thus, the modern liberal is a statist, and vice versa, though he'll call himself a progressive or whatever lie he needs to in order to get by. Van Jones was a communist who proclaimed himself a liberal and progressive - but all are the same thing - people who crave power over others and are those who should NEVER have it.
The liberalism of the founding fathers was libertarianism coupled with some degrees of conservatism based on traditional Christian values. It was liberal in opposition to monarchy and despotism - it was revolutionary in contrast to that. It was vehemently not the "revolutionary" of tyrannical dictators like Hugo Chavez or the mass murdering coward Che Guevara or of even greater mass murderer Lenin. That's simply one more tyrannical despot replacing a weaker government.
Nor does any "liberal" policy in the quiz follow true liberal principles - which are libertarian principles, or conservative principles - as conservatives are seeking to CONSERVE the liberties and virtues derived from them that they see as most beneficial to the survival of the American people.
It's flawed on the whole statist dictatorial side. No true liberal should be taking from one group to give to another, as welfare does. That's theft - it starts with money and ends with prima nocta.
Nor does a traditional conservative - based on conserving the principles that made the country great - demand that government interfere in people's home lives.
I suppose the conclusion is that, given liberal-statists identical status and thought, and the opinions of an American conservative versus an American traditionalist (who doesn't adhere to the Constitution so much as their cultural opinions - which may not be a bad thing for culture, but perhaps shouldn't interfere in government and laws) - the test is invalid.
Diatribe over - but consider it no matter your result. Classic liberalism, American conservatism, or just libertarianism, call it what you will - it all adds up to this:
And this:
Liberty looks pretty damn good to me.
