Bill Whittle's final Part VII of the What We Believe series, explaining Tea Party/conservative beliefs:
Whittle wraps up the series, and hopefully those who've watched it have gotten a little more insight - possibly into their own views and how to express them.
Picking nits:
Folks used to statistics will note that his comparison of "science units" is not done per capita, as the other nations listed are smaller. Were it done per capita (rounding to nearest million in both cases) it would look like this:
UK:______.29 science units/person (18 million science units/61 million population)
Canada:___.27 (9sci/33pop)
USA:_____.24 (75/307pop)
Germany:__.18 (15sci/81pop)
France:___.16 (10sci/62pop)
Italy:_____.11 (7mil/60mil pop)
Japan:____.09 (12sci/127pop)
Considering the VAST size of the US population, that's pretty darned decent. Couple it with the fact that the UK benefits from many very well established science centers, and that Canada has no small benefit from being a partner to both the US and UK, it's not too much of a surprise that per capita, the UK and Canada are doing very well. And good for them - but by no means is their prosperity an indictment of the fact that the US is the shining beacon of science by volume, and a very strong third per capita. That the US, with a vast population to offset in per capita comparison, still eclipses other nations is perhaps a greater support of Whittle's point of American exceptionalism in science endeavors.
Now, there are other reasons for this as well that Whittle hit on in earlier videos. One is the rule of law. Individuals who discover or invent something are probably going to have their patents, inventions, or ideas respected. Discovery and invention are generally rewarded through prosperity, and only rarely thwarted by intellectual theives or seizure by the state.
Consider Mikhael. He invented a product that's used worldwide, was adopted by his own government, and is so famous and iconic as to be recognized immediately. You probably know his last name already, and undoubtedly the initials his invention is known by.
Did he earn anything from it the way an engineer in the US would have? He received a lot of medals, promotions, and state handouts, but nothing along the lines of what a US inventor would receive for such a prolific creation - with about 100 million units worldwide. If he were selling records, it'd be a decuple diamond album, topped only by another Michael. Except a record cost about thirty to fifty times less.

Vanity Fair (Statist in Disguise)
In a recent article which can be found here, an editor of the Vanity Fair magazine tells the American electorate to "Man up" and stop acting like angry, hormonal teenagers. Here are a few points I would like to highlight about this piece of writing:
1. He believes the American electorate to be a bunch of self possessed teenagers who are acting out at their parents, i.e. the government. It has to be mentioned that this is a definite liberal sentiment, that "they" (statist, modern liberals, socialist etc.) know what is best for you, just like your parents did. They want "the best" for you but with that comes the erosion of your personal responsibility by the statist government. Some examples include New York state regulating your salt intake, and a general push in some states to not allow vending machines on school campuses for "the good of the children." It also includes determining if you should receive healthcare if your 65 years old or a new born infant because some government bureaucrat has decided he knows better the a physician does.
2. He also is still clinging to racism alledgedlly perpetrated upon President Obama by the American people especially those that love their guns and are just angry white folks. Look at Lt. Colonel Allen West in Florida, look at all the African American voters that stood within and with out the tea party this last election. This has nothing to do with race. It has everything to do with the Obama Regime's agenda and a congress that was owned lock, stock and barrel by statist and followed regime's whims. Even then the regime couldn't always do what it wanted. People forget about the statist super majority and the senate and healthcare almost failed anyhow.
The gentleman from Vanity Fair attempts to sound a moderate but it is evident he is not. He clings to the liberal argument that the majority of this country is racist and hates Obama when in reality its the Obama Agenda that is truly despised. He wants to get back to the days of "moderate" President Bill Clinton which he apparently forgets was forced to the center after the statist attempted to pass healtcare reform during his first term and was "shouted at" by us angry teenagers. He also points out that what makes this national "teenage backlash" worse is that us right wingers like our guns and that statement further implicates this gentleman as another statist that just doesn't get it.
Statist will never understand conservative principles of freedom, liberty, nor personal responsibility. They want to take care of us.... The only problem is "We The People" grew up between 2008 and 2010 and we want our government back.

The Vote
My fellow United States Citizens,
Today I have decided to change up our usual format due to today be November 2, 2010.
Today the midterm elections occur and this time around everyone regardless of the views you hold need to be heard, from both the left and right of the political spectrum.
Today is the day where each American needs to do his or her one most sacred duty:
That of heading to the polling place and casting your vote for your congressmen and various state post as well. If you have never served your country by being a military veteran and you wish you could have, by casting your vote today you will have done your country, your state, and your local areas a valuable service - that being your participation in the politcal machinery which our professors and other learned men call our democracy.
Are you fed up with out of control spending and fiscal idiocy in Washington D.C?
Go vote!
Are you tired of seeing congressmen and women trying to control your lives trough the implemetation of Obamacare?
Go Vote!
Do you feel as if Congress is slowly eroding our inalienable rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness?
Go Vote!

Are you unhappy with the way the current administration in Washington D.C. presents the United States to the rest of the world?
Go Vote!
Keep in mind that even though your one vote may not seem that much in the political grand scheme of things, you couple that vote to your neighbors, your fellow townspeople, others that reside within your county and in your state, one can get a pretty clear picture of what,"WE THE PEOPLE," want.
So my fellow citizens, let your voices be heard today even if you support the current regime in Washington, its your right, and its granted to you by virtue of the United States Constitution, not the federal government.

Dropping the Red Kool-Aid for a Spot of Tea
From the New York Post:
President Obama came out yesterday and was attempting to align himself with the Tea Party movement.
Oh yes, a definte laugh, or should this be a sign of concern for the mental state of our leader? This is the same man who TRIPLED the deficit of his not so popular republican predecessor. This is also the man that has spent more money than ALL OTHER presidential administrations combined. This is the man who has done everything he can with the support of the most liberal congress ever to centralize power in the hands of the federal government. The Healthcare bill fiasco, the 2nd stimulus, tripling the size of Americorps, attempting to shackle the populace with cap and trade all belong under this man's name. He now expects you all to believe that he is a fiscally responsible conservative president, that favors limited government and that the populace being wary of the government is a good thing? One word will some that up:
WOW.
Now he says that the Tea Party has misdirected itself. It should be angry with the republicans still in office. Guess what Mr. President.... We are. We are mad at both sides of this mess because it took both for us to be in the situation we are in. But right now YOU and YOUR party have exclusive control of the federal government. You and your party are spending out of control, yes we do know that the occasional RINO votes along with you, they are being revealed and being marked for replacement in the coming November election as well. You and your ilk, Mr. President, think the citizens of this country are stupid and cannot keep up with politics nor understand the arguments. The Tea Party itself, made up of both democrats and republicans sees right through you, your party and your lies.
Mr. President, the nation is very disappointed with you, even your misguided followers, who think you are not doing even to "fundamentally transform" these United States. Now it is the citizen's turn, Mr. President, on 2 November we intend to fundamentally transform Washington D.C.

Indoctrination? Creating Rights? Wealth Redistribution? The Same Ole' Progressive Agenda
From the Blaze:
This is everything that Barack Obama and the left preach. They attempt to indoctrinate people, seems they like to focus on children. Speaking of which I know several schools across the country got their "education" video whose return address comes from the Department of Education via 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.
They also attempt to create rights to shore up their voting base. Seriously folks? High speed internet isn't a right, for a list of rights try reading the Bill of Rights and the Declaration of Independence. Is high speed internet a nice tool? You're darn right it is. Does it warrant a government subsidy so those who can't afford it or it isnt available in an area can get it? Absolutely not. "Chairman Julius" Genachowski, and former FCC chairman Michael Copps need to keep their "collective" hands off the constitution and focus on monitoring radio stations for curse words. However, Copps seems to want to do otherwise by stating very clearly:
"You will need and you are entitled to have these tools and services available to you. I think it is a civil right."
Guess what "Chairman" Copp, try heading to a public library. Most of them today have high speed internet and that type of technology in place. We don't need to spend any more money that we do not have on goods or services that the left feels is a "right" so that they can get re-elected. We have already done that with Americorps to increase the number of government subsidized volunteers, and we are about to reap the "so called benefits" of a government option healthcare system. America was already the world leader in "private interest" volunteerism and "had" the worlds' best healthcare system. There was no need to spend the money on two of these issues.
Most importantly Leftist want to redistribute wealth to low income families or if you prefer take money away from those who have worked their rear ends off to get what they have. This can also cause those lower income families to vote for whomever "shows them the money." However, that money has to come from somewhere, and its the taxpayer, or worse yet it gets borrowed from China or Japan. The leftists' believe that even if you have whatever it is they are subsidizing that they will just go ahead and give it to you any way because the extra income is "useful." Really? Useful to get you reelected? Useful to help that low income family? Will that low income family use that money wisely? Will that money have oversight to determine if it is being used for it's intended purposes?
Clear examples of leftist ideology, and clear examples of why the leftist way never works. It is impossible to oversee and fund a subsidy in our current economic state without the raising or creation of taxes (another leftist pillar). You can't create rights out of thin air. If you do you asking for the destruction of a nation due to the populace losing all its iniative and its will to work or produce anything of economic value. You can't indoctrinate people either, if you do, today you risk completely alienating the popualce due to the internet and the growing number of citizens that are "doing their civic homework."
One can clearly see all these elements of the leftist plan at work and the good news is that people are now seeing it for what it truly is and people are throwing it back in the leftist "collective" faces.
2 November is approaching, please be sure to register to vote and discuss the issues with family and friends.

Two Ducks in a Pond - Dolores Huerta and Hilda Solis
Delores Huerta and Secretary of Labor Hilda Solis are literally two ducks in a pond.
The speakers of the "We Can Help" campaign that allows workers "documented or not" to petition the federal government for help. Here is a video taken from the new news site: The Blaze
So how do you feel about that America? Is it alright for these women in a government advertisement to give support to workers, "documented or not?" Undocumented workers is now the liberal code word for illegal aliens who do not rate support from our government.. Is it really the law to for the government to ensure "safe housing and transportation? I know I'd like to know which law that happens to be.
To go a step further, the excerpts of Huerta's speech to a Tuscon highschool assembly openly flag her as a radical socialist. These two women are clearly another example of which our president has told us before, to judge him by who he surrounds himself with. For almost 2 years now we citizens of the United States have been judging you and your form of government and soon you will see our respons.

Celebrate Your Independence
Image via Wikipedia
Celebrate it Independence Day and remember what happened on this day so long ago. Our forefathers gave us the Declaration of Independence. It stated that a people had the right to be free. That every man, woman and child has the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. It addressed the grievances they brought against King George III in a clear argument as to why they should break their political and economic bonds to Great Britian.
Today, we as an American people are facing some of the same arguments as our founding fathers. We face increasing interference from our federal government in our lives to include our rights to see to our own bodies' health, to create a living for oursleves without government saying how much we can or cannot use for our own benefit, and to hand pass on something tanglible to our children when we pass from this world.
Americans, enjoy this day. This is a day of freedom from all it was enshrined as such when the Declaration was read to the people in 1776. The document still stands and is just as applicable to our current overgrown, powerhungry federal government as it was to the government of King George III of Great Britian. Think on these things today as you are with your friends and family celebrating the very essence of which this amazing country was built on.
Happy Independence Day. Be Safe.

The Growing Thugocracy
You won't believe your eyes....
This is what our country is coming to.... Congressmen acting like "badasses," and of course a President that says the following:
How presidential is that? Couple these two videos with this congressman from Illinois:
Who the heck do we have running the country? Are they elected officials that serve the public, or Al Capone, Dirty Harry, and Clyde Barrow? I truly hate to pick on just the leftists who are destroying our country, but I haven't found any video footage like this where conservatives or even republicans are concerned.
November is fast approaching America. Encourage your neighbors and friends to get out, talk about the issues and go vote when your time comes.

Words from another "Barry"
"Extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice." - Barry Goldwater
Simply put and to the point, that sentence alone should galvanize the Tea Parties and all freedom and liberty loving patriots around our country. We should not be afraid of the mainstream media and it's government overseers charges of "extremism." America was founded on the principles of individual freedom and liberty. From the recent "Patriot Act" to the government takeover of healthcare, and ensuing increase in taxes, our freedoms and liberties are under attack like never before.
People all over the country for are discussing government and its role in American society. Tea Parties and other patriot groups such as Oath Keepers call for strict adherence of the United States Constitution while the federal government in Washington D.C. gets ready to run it again through a paper shredder after passing healthcare and now turning its attention to giving millions of ILLEGAL immigrants amnesty, to ensure statist hegemony in the federal government for the forseeable future.
So get behind Arizona and its state government, goto a Tea Party meeting, talk to your neighbors about what is happening across the nation. Discuss Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness. Discuss our founding fathers principles of individual responsibility, belief in God, economic freedom, minimal taxes, and most important minimal government.
Do not fear the labels, after all they are just words. Armed with the truth and principles, we can stay above the petty name calling that the statist agenda in Washington D.C. uses to take good people and good organizatiosn out fo the fight to defend individual freedom and liberty.
Don't be afraid, and don't be afraid to scream at the top of your lungs the words,
DON'T Tread on ME!

Fiction or Reality
Image via Wikipedia
"Do you really think we want laws observed?" said Dr. Ferris. "We want them to be broken. You'd better get it straight that it's not a bunch of boy scouts your up against.... We're after power and we mean it.... There's no wat to rule innocent men. The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren't enough criminals one makes them. One declares so many thing to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws. Who wants a nation of law abiding citizens? What's there in that for anyone? But just pass the kind of laws that can neither be observed nor enforced or objectively interpreted - and you create a nation of law breakers - and then you cash in on guilt. Now that's the system, Mr. Reardon, that's the game, and once you understand it, you'll be much easier to deal with."
In this quote, Dr. Ferris, a government bureacrat, is explaining to Hank Reardon, an industrialist the intentions of those in power in Washington D.C. For those of you who haven't had a chance to read the book, the world is filled with "People's States," that are socialist in nature. The United States is on the brink of becoming one of these types of nations as well. The government destroys business at every level, while people themselves are entranced by being "progressive" and "socially responsible." Wealth in this world is redistributed by the government and businesses alike and a total breakdown in society ensues.
This quote is important because it reveals that those in power in the book, and those in the halls of power in Washington D.C. aren't really "progessive" nor "socially responsible." It's about pure control and power of those they claim to represent. They want the power and they mean to have it. Look at what is happening, healthcare decisions are going to be taken away from you and your doctor, the government is moving to regulate how much salt your allowed to eat, they continually raise taxes on both alcohol and cigarette's taken advantage of people's desires to use those things.
Mr. Reardon in the quote above is basically being told, that he better comply or they will come for him. Eventually they do with excessive regulations against the steel industry in general and while the steel industry crumbles they blame Reardon himself for their legislation and its failures.
Being regulated and dictated to means loss of freedom. How much more can the citizens of this country take?
(The bold emphasis in the quote is mine.)

Harry Reid, "Lost in the Sauce?"
Image by Getty Images via Daylife
WND: Tea Partiers vs. Reid Supporters: 10,000 to 100
Las Vegas Review - Journal: Reid Kicks Off Re-Election Campaign in Searchlight
Here are some of Harry Reid's comments from the last several day's in reference to his re-election bid for his Senate seat:
"The people who are upset really don't know why they are upset.... What do they mean?"
The people don't know why? Really Harry? I can help you with that one. They are upset that you people in congress have passed into law, a healthcare overhaul that threatens to literally transform the United States into a socialist state, where a person's health is affected by a government bureaucrat, and roughly speaking our incomes will be getting taxed by double if not triple the current rate to pay for it. It will increase premiums because insurance companies will be forced to provide coverage to people with pre-existing conditions which has been likened to purchasing insurance for a car you just wrecked on the interstate. Those increased premiums will lead to more people being forced to choose the "public option" or if you prefer, "the government option" because they will not be able to afford private health insurance which is what you and your fellow statist are all about: MORE PEOPLE DEPENDENT ON THE GOVERNMENT!
"I'm not a big poll guy.... Everyone who knows me knows I have never paid attention to polls. The only poll that matters is the on election day."
Harry, honestly I think you are going to be very surprised, just when you and your fellow statist "just knew" in your heart of hearts that "Kennedy's seat" could never go to a republican. You just disregarded the voice of the people then in the polls just as you did in Virginia and in New Jersey in those governors' elections. I think you are going to be surprised once again Harry when you lose your seat in November.
In reference to the 10,000 Tea Partiers that showed up in his hometown of Searchlight, Nevada:
"The vast majority of people don't feel that way.... The vast majority of people want problems solved and that's my business, solving problems."
He doesn't understand the Tea Party movement nor does he understand, due to his inability to process poll information, what citizens of the United States really want. They don't want this horrible monstrosity of a healthcare law that destroys the freedom to choose your healthcare, mainly when, where, how, and from whom you get it. They do not want the federal government spending like there's no tomorrow and borrowing vast amounts of money from the Chinese. They want more offshore drilling to reduce or dependency on foreign oil especially since the majority of that foreign oil comes from those who would rather see us dead. All Harry understands is power for powers sake, especially in the hands of the federal government. They want less government, less tax burden, less regulation on themselves and small business, more jobs, more freedom, and more liberty. That's a citizens' idea of solving problems: reduce and/or remove government from the free market.
And finally the most telling quote:
"They (The Tea Party) want things to be the way they used to be.... Things will never be the way the used to be."
Reminds me of something someone else said not too long ago before they took office. Its about "transforming" the country. The statist/liberal/progressive/marxist/communist/socialist/fascist (choose your favorite term) in Washington are literally remaking the country in the image of Fascist Italy, Nazi Germany, Communist Russia and Maoist China. Is that what the citizens of the United States want? Is it what the country needs? How will Reid and the others find out? When the only poll that matters to Reid (and his statist brethren) is taken, and it'll be here in November 2010.

Exposing a Progressive....
Kudos, to these guys. This is the exposing of a statist, progressive elite who does not care what you think or even want to listen to you:
This is what we are up against America. We need these types of people out of office. November is coming. Progressives be ready to suffer the consequences of your actions.

The Duplicity of Eric Massa
Image via Wikipedia
He claims to being forced to resign due to not following the party line (the democrat one) and giving a "yes" vote for healthcare. He is being accused of sexual harrasment by staff members, and that is the "official" reason for his resignation. He also makes a claim that he was confronted by Rahm Emmanuel, the White House Chief of Staff, and told to vote with the president on healthcare.
Here is what I know of Eric Massa:
So, we have a gentleman who tells us he will not represent his constituents interest whether they want a single payer system or not (which was on the table at the time). For that alone he should resign. Elected representatives are elected by their constituents to represent their interest in their state capitals or in Washington D.C. If they falter representing their voter's interested they usually find themselves out of office.
Recently Massa changed his mind of Healthcare going on the record he would not vote for healthcare, in doing so, he was going directly against the White House. So why did he change? My guess is the single payer system was no longer in the bill. In simpler terms, the healthcare legislation is not radical enough for him.
So what is his game? I don't think he has any telling information to go after Rahm Emmanuel or expose anything on corruption within the federal government. The guy doesn't seem to be genuine at all, Beck is currently apologizing to his viewers for wasting their time. The key factor is that Massa was wiling to turn gainst his party for not being radical enough. At the same time he charges that the Obama administration is forcing to vote in line with White House wishes, regardless of how he feels on the issues. Isn't that what he bascially told his constiutents in that video from last August?

The Sum of it All
I recently read The 5000 Year Leap, and was surprised that there was nothing earth shattering or some great conservative (or libertarian) secret waiting to be learned. What I did learn was that our country is in trouble and without some type of paradigm shift America will be lost to us as we know.
The overarching theme I have seemed to discover through my reading of book on politics, philosophy, religion etc. I have finally recognized that we, as Americans, as a general rule are missing something so simple, so obvious that we should slap ourselves for missing it.
Our nation was founded as a society of virtue, children were instructed how to be virtuous from their parents and from the elementary schools they attended. America was a place were religion was encouraged and was proliferated throughout society as a whole. Children were taught to be industrious and generous, as their parents practiced it in everything they did.
Alexis de Tocqueville said this about America during the time he visited:
"I sought for the greatness and genius of America in her commodious harbors and her ample rivers, and it was not there. In the fertile fields and boundless prairies, and it was not there. In her rich mines and her vast world commerce, and it was not there. Not until I went into the churches of America and heard her pulpits, aflame with righteousness, did I understand the secret of her genius and power. America is great because she is good, and if America ever ceases to be good, America will cease to be great."
So where does that statement leave us? This is the point where Ayn Rand and I diverge, man needs to fill his spiritual hole in his heart to be complete. It can be argued that the founding fathers thought it important for Christian men and women to be involved in government. The founding fathers dictated freedom of religion for all, not the absence of Judeo-Christian principles being instilled into our government through its elected representatives.
I have thought on this for a long while, I believe that the word that comes to mind is balance. Balance in everything spiritual, emotional, intellectual, and physical balance. It is well and good to excel at making a living, but at the same time if you emotionally or spiritually deficient chances are you will not be happy or you may not be generous to your neighbor when he or she is in need. Is it your responsibility to help you neighbor? In America it isn't, but if you wish to and you feel led to help your neighbor then by all means do so.
An example of the virtue vacuum: Why does everyone get angry when corporate greed is exposed?
It is because greed in itself is wrong (it should not be construed as making a profit). When an example like corporate greed comes to mind, people scream for more government regulations and therefore more restrictions on the market. This in turn hampers the economy and so on and so forth. People have not realized what they have done to themselves. In asking for government protection they erode the very system that sustains them. If that corporate greed, in whatever form it manifested itself, had not occurred, the extra regulations would not have been levied and the free market system would have been left alone and allowed to function as it should. In a virtuous society (in America that usually means one espouses some type of Christian beliefs) greed is frowned upon, hard work is encouraged. Helping a neighbor in need is honorable whether it be giving aid yourself or directing them to a church with more resources than yourself.
Balance and personal responsibility are the answer to America's problems. America's churches and other not for profit organizations, no matter the religious affiliation, are the answer to solving the poverty question, not by giving the poor everything they need but giving the poor what they need to become productive members in society. Business on all levels would be cleaned up because business men and women would be concerned providing good and services for their customers while exhibiting honesty and integrity while making a profit. Government would be less involved in regulation and in taxing the citizenry and business. Government would be more fiscally responsible and accountable to its citizens.
As of now there is rampant spending by the government when there is no money in the treasury, massive entitlement programs that do not work or about to be bankrupt with more programs on the way to help the "poor" in our country, the continuous attempts by a socialist congress to cause the complete abdication of personal responsibility to the federal government, government officials involved in criminal and morally irresponsible scandals among other things.
Alexis de Tocqueville also said this:
"Democracy and socialism have nothing in common but one word, equality. But notice the difference: while democracy seeks equality in liberty, socialism seeks equality in restraint and servitude."
I say, "Liberty and Freedom through Virtue instead of Restraint and Servitude through Socialism!"

Wreaths Across America
I had the pleasure this morning to attend a Wreaths Across America ceremony sponsored by the local Civil Air Patrol. The ceremony took place at Tyler Memorial Cemetery in Tyler, Texas. It was raining and cold, despite the weather, the ceremony boasted a decent turnout. Around 200 wreaths were laid on veteran's grave stones. Next year they are planning to lay over 1,000 wreaths, which will account for every veteran currently laid to rest in that cemetery.
The goal of Wreaths Across America is to:
Remember the fallen,
Honor those who serve,
Teach our children the value of freedom.
Being a combat veteran myself, I was allowed to participate in the ceremony by assisting other veterans place several wreaths on a memorial dedicated to fallen World War 2, Korean, and Vietnam veterans. After the ceremony was officially over, the attendees were allowed to assist veterans and the Civil Air Patrol in laying the 200 wreaths that were donated to the cause.

Reverend Wright: A Shaper of Obama
Here is a good reason why Americans need to question everything about their federal government. The following are a collection of Reverend Wright's comments from a speech he gave at the Monthly Review. Here we go:
"This magazine unflinchingly has tackled the tough issues from McCarthyism to militarism, from the Chinese revolution through the Canadian revolution to the Cuban revolution, from the lies told by United States presidents to the lies told by the United States media. We celebrate tonight six decades of dedicated service."
The Monthly Review is a socialist magazine here's the link.
I guess progressives make sure to celebrate six decades of service for all socialist endeavors see:
Wait there's more:
"You stayed up front. Your starting point is, quote, no nonsense Marxism, unquote. But you dispel all the negative images we have been programmed to conjure up with just the mention of that word "Socialism" or "Marxism."
Great so we have a news publication that pushes Marxism, I have no problem with free speech but we need to remember who this guy preached to for 20 years. If you need a reminder Rev. Wright preached to the Obama family for 20 years.
More Rev. Wright:
"Grateful for the opportunity to bring you a word of Thanksgiving from those who don't ordinarily get a hearing unless they go along with the program, sing in tune with whatever is the popular tune and stay in lockstep with the political pundits who tell us what is politically correct, what is permissible and what will be tolerated from a person of color in this land, the land of the greed and the home of the brave excuse me, the land of the greed and home of the slave."
If he feels this way he's free to leave the country. I certainly won't keep him here if he hates America so much. America has always been about making your own mark and doing whatever it is that makes you happy. We have the unalienable rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Unfortunately, the pursuit of happiness doesn't always result in happiness and I, for one, can attest to the fact.
More from the Reverend:
"For the people. My work with liberation theology, with Latin American theologians, with the Black Theology Project and what the Cuban Council of Churches taught me 30 years ago the importance of Marx and the Marxist analysis of the sociology's of the vulnerable and the oppressed who were trying desperately to break free of the political economies undergirded by this country that were choking them and cutting off any hope of a possible future where all of the people would benefit. My exposure to the FMLN in El Salvador, the Sandinistas in Nicaragua and my presence at the 15th Jamahiriya in Libya taught me what I have read in the pages of the Monthly Review which is as Joshua Stanton says, though we need not always agree with one another, we must do the work necessary to at least understand one another.
Only in America can we not always agree with each other yet still have the freedom to do so. Try making your ideas known in Communist China, or in Cuba and see where it gets you. Most likely in prison or shot I would think. All those places Rev. Wright mentions try making your opinion known there. I would also like to see him show me a model of a Marxist Utopia. It doesn't exist nor can it exist. Marxism is about control, it suppresses free thinking, the economy, and religion.
A utopia is funded upon the idea that every person can be the same. When I say same I mean have the same interest, the same aptitude, the same emotional response, the same belief, the and same religion. A common sense, rational person can tell you this can never be. People are different. We all have different interest, beliefs, emotional responses, mental aptitudes and different religions. The Founding Fathers knew this to be the case. That is why they made America to be a land of opportunity. It might not be possible for us all to be a Bill Gates, however, that one Bill Gates gives the American economy thousands of jobs and provides unlimited services to the American population as a whole.
The fact is Reverend Wright doesn't espouse the views of the Founding Father's. He wants to handcuff the many so that the needs of the few are met. His policies are designed to destroy this country's greatness and turn us all into wards of the all powerful state. A member of his congregation for 20 years now sits in the Oval Office as President of the United States. Through our Czar Wars articles you have seen first hand what type of people our president has surrounded himself with in his administration. Now you have had a more in depth look at a man who helped shaped the views of President Barrack Hussein Obama.
What will you do now America. Today votes are being cast across the nation. Whose side are you on? The Founding Fathers or on the side of the totalitarian progressives?

Czar Wars Episode 5: An Overabundance of Mao (not the condiment)
There seems to be a lot of "Mao" in the air recently in Washington D.C. Between Anita Dunn, the White House Communications Director and the "Manufacturing Czar," Ron Bloom, one would almost think the Obama administration would celebrate the 60th Anniversary of Communist China(oh wait, they did).
Anita Dunn's proclamation came in a speech to a group of high school seniors, "...two of my favorite political philosophers, Mao Zedong and Mother Teresa. See for yourself below:
She goes on to say that he is one of the two people she turns to most. She uses both Mao and Mother Teresea both being advocates of being able to make choices for one's self. Mao Zedong was a demagogue who enforced his views at the barrel of a gun (more on that later) and didn't give a whole lot of choice to his opponents politically. So, to use him as a proponent of having individual choice doesn't make a lot of sense.
It gets better....
Ron Bloom, the "Manufacturing Czar" is on the record for saying things like:
"Generally speaking we get the joke. We know that the free market is nonsense."
and things like:
"We know this is largely about power, that it's an adults only, no limit game. We kind of agree with Mao that political power comes largely from the barrel of a gun. And we get it that if you want a friend, you should get a dog."
So, for our beloved manufacturing czar (where's the jobs by the way) political power is enforced by the barrel of a gun, just like Chairman Mao used to do. If you think you can't believe what your seeing watch here:
It would see to me and to most others that there is a "Mao" infatuation at the White House. Well what have they shown us so far? They have shown us it is alright to get involved in the private sector by nationalizing banks, General Motors, Freddie Mac and Fanny Mae, by attacking dissent by attempting to alienate Fox news. Here is what makes it OK to do all of these things, its their choice, just like it was Mao's choice. Its their choice to politically strong arm corporations, news services and the citizens of the United States, and if necessary, according to the manufacturing czar they will use the barrel of a gun to do it just like their hero, Mao Zedong did. They don't believe in the individualism and personal freedom that was set into the Constitution written by Founding Fathers, they believe it is the supremacy and power of the federal government to regulate and provide for the citizenry that matters. To them government "choice" is the imperative, not your individual freedoms.
If the thought, "What would Mao do?" is the mindset at the White House it is going to be a rough 3 more years. Mao style politics have the FCC working on regulating the Internet and reimposing a newer, stricter version of the fairness doctrine or even raising the possibility of bringing the news media under federal control (see Czar Wars Episode 2, they sure wish that would happen).
Mao style politics have Fox News under the gun politically because they air news stories that are not commensurate with the agenda of the Maoist-in-Chief. Mao style politics have tremendous amounts of political pressure falling on other news services to not disseminate news stories that originate with Fox News. Mao style politics are responsible for grass roots, pro-constitution organizations being labeled as racist, astorturf, birthers, and tenthers.
As a nation and free people we need to ask, "What would the Founding Fathers do?" We need to do those things, we need to get back to the basics of the constitution, return the federal government back to its constitutional limits, elect people of integrity and honor to office, and rediscover our moral compass. Only then can we can America back on its feet and reestablish ourselves and the leader of the world.

Czar Wars Episode 3: Cass Sunstein: Regulatory Czar
Image via Wikipedia
Mr. Sunstein is a "constitutional" (I use the term loosely) lawyer. He is on record for the following statements made either in print or in the media:
On terminal patients: "the state owns the rights to body parts of people who are dead or in certain hopeless conditions, and it can remove their organs without asking anyone's permission.... Though it may sound grotesque, routine removal is not impossible to defend.... In theory, it would save lives, and it would do so without intruding on anyone who has any prospect for life."
My question is since when does anything having to do with my body belong to the state? If I want to be a donor that is all fine and good, after I am dead take what you need. If I am still breathing hands off the scalpel and keep trying to save my life.
Sunstein is also on record for saying things like:
"(the) socialist movement (never took hold because of the)...."smaller and weaker political left or lack of enthusiasm for redistributive programs."
No kidding this is America.
"If the United States agrees to participate in a climate change agreement on terms that are not in the nation's interest, but that help the world as a whole, there would be no reason for complaint, certainly if such participation is more helpful to poor nations than conventional foreign-aid alternatives."
Again this is America we don't believe in this type of thinking. Any charity we give comes from donations to non-profits or volunteering our time.
Sunstein also believes:
"The absence of a European-style social welfare state is certainly connected with the widespread perception among the white majority that the relevant programs would disproportionately benefit African Americans (and more recently Hispanics)...."
So every white man or woman out there is a racist and that is why we do not want socialism? Are you serious? He also lends support to communism by stating:
"During the Cold War, the debate about [social welfare] guarantees took the form of pervasive disagreement between the United States and its communist adversaries. Americans emphasized the importance of civil and political liberties, above all free speech and freedom of religion, while communist nations stressed the right to a job, health care, and a social minimum.... I think this debate was unhelpful; it is most plausible to see the two sets of rights as mutually reinforcing, not antagonistic."
Really, so how do we pay enough taxes to ensure everyone has a home, a job, health care, a decent wage? Also the Soviets weren't big on free speech nor religion because they wanted to replace religion that involves the soul with a religion that involves the state, and to accomplish that they could not afford to have people professing their beliefs freely so they also heavily suppressed freedom of speech.
Sunstein has also proposed a 2nd Bill of rights which entitles the following:
"The right to a useful and remunerative job in the industries or shops or farms or mines of the nation" -- Ok. What if I don't have the proper skill set or intelligence to be of use?
"The right to earn enough to provide adequate food and clothing and recreation." -- Define adequate are we talking Latrell Sprewell ( the Minnesota Timberwolves offered Sprewell a 3-year, $21 million contract extension, substantially less than what his then-current contract paid him. Insulted, he publicly vented his outrage, declaring, "I have a family to feed.") adequate? Or are we talking Jed Clampett before he discovered oil?
"The right of every farmer to raise and sell his products at a return which will give him and his family a decent living." -- Again please define "decent living" are we talking barely surviving or living in style? Who do we fund it?
"The right of every businessman, large and small, to trade in an atmosphere of freedom from unfair competition and domination by monopolies at home or abroad." -- In the free market business rise and fall based on the decisions of that leadership. We have no business leveling the playing field. If a person can corner the market by supplying a better product at a cheaper price, more power to him.
"The right of every family to a decent home." -- Aren't we in trouble from this right now? Isn't the federal government in charge of making loans through Freddie and Fannie? --Wasn't that part of Barney Frank's progressive agenda?
"The right to adequate medical care and the opportunity to achieve and enjoy good health." -- Heath care is a service, it is not a right. If you can't afford it, consider changing your life style or by getting a better job.
"The right to adequate protection from the economic fears of old age, sickness, accident, and unemployment." -- What does this entail? Don't we already have Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security? Does it mean that I have the right to protection from defecating on myself when I am 100 years old?
"The right to a good education." -- This one is a tough one to argue but in this day and age there are already several programs that help people go to university and get a degree. Does it really need to be legislated?
So after taking all of that in it is fairly clear that government is supposed to control and decide all the issues of your life. Do you trust them to do a good job if the 2nd Bill of Rights gets implemented? I don't.
Cass also has interesting views on abortion like:
"I have argued that the Constitution ... forbids government from refusing to pay the expenses of abortion in cases of rape or incest, at least if government pays for childbirth in such cases.... There would be no tension with the establishment clause if people with religious or other objections were forced to pay for that procedure (abortion). Indeed, taxpayers are often forced to pay for things – national defense, welfare, certain forms of art, and others – to which they have powerful moral and even religious objections."
So, not only does he espouse federal funding of murdering unborn children but he expects the average citizen to be forced to help pay for it.
He is also a fan of dismantling free speech:
"purely commercial (television) stations (should) provide financial subsidies to public television or to commercial stations that agree to provide less profitable but high-quality programming.... worthwhile to consider more dramatic approaches as well."
Like:
"compulsory public-affairs programming, right of reply, content review by nonpartisan experts or guidelines to encourage attention to public issues and diversity of view.... It seems quite possible that a law that contained regulatory remedies would promote rather than undermine the 'freedom of speech,'
Really, so Glenn Beck, Michael Savage, Bill O'Reilly, Sean Hannity and other would be forced to present "both" sides of the issue or be forced off the air. If they chose to comply and couldn't find an "opposing" viewpoint then they would be unable to air the story or segment. How do you like that for freedom of speech?
Last and possibly the most interesting is his views on animals and their "interest:"
"If we focus on suffering, as I believe that we should, it is not necessarily impermissible to kill animals and use them for food; but it is entirely impermissible to be indifferent to their interests while they are alive. So too for other animals in farms, even or perhaps especially if they are being used for the benefit of human beings."
While I have never advocated the mistreatment of animals do they deserve legal representation? Sunstein thinks so:
“We could even grant animals a right to bring suit without insisting that animals are
persons, or that they are not property. A state could certainly confer rights on a pristine area, or a painting, and allow people to bring suit on its behalf, without therefore saying that that area and that painting may not be owned. It might, in these circumstances, seem puzzling that so many people are focusing on the question of whether animals are property. We could retain the idea of property but also give animals far more protection against injury or neglect of their interests.”
Wow, I mean wow, really? So how would my dog, if she became distraught because I only give her a cup of dry dog food instead of a can of "wet" dog food retain that lawyer?

Czars Wars Episode 2: Mark Lloyd, FCC Diversity Czar
Mark Lloyd, Diversity Czar. Here is some rhetoric from Mr. Lloyd from the National Conference on Media Reform in 2008:
So we have a "diversity" Czar who thinks Hugo Chavez is a great guy, and thinks that it is great that Chavez has a strangle hold on the news media within Venezuela. Mr. Lloyd makes it clear that he supports an avowed communist's policies towards the news media.
Mr. Lloyd also has several connections throughout the United States in the academia and through the organization The Free Press. One of which is Robert McChesney, a self avowed Marxist, according to the Glenn Beck Program. Mr. McChesney's website summary says:
" From 2000 to 2004 he served as co-editor of Monthly Review — www.monthlyreview.org — the independent socialist magazine (my emphasis) founded by Paul Sweezy and Leo Huberman in 1949."
Mr. McChesney also is a co-founder of Freepress, a organization dedicated to:
"...working to foster public policies that promote media diversity, strengthen laws and regulations to support minority ownership, eliminate institutional biases in media content, and ensure fair and accurate representation for all communities."
Last I checked anyone with enough capital can start their own news service. I haven't spend any money on the Patriot Perspective and I have close to 160 followers now as a result of expanding this blog to free community services such as Twitter and Facebook. One of these days, if I and my contributors feel as if it would be worth it we may try to put some capital into this project of ours. The point is opportunities are out there and media tycoons aren't made overnight.
On the Glenn Beck Program, guest Seton Motley has the following to say about Robert McChesney and Mark Lloyd:
"Robert McChesney is an avowed Marxist. So when he founded an organization (The Free Press) predicated on tenets regarding Marxism and then they start having large influence and holding great sway in the development of policy for the Obama administration, I believe one should care about what McChesney has to say."
He goes on to say:
"McChesney has a very distorted view of the first amendment. He views the media marketplace in the same way that Mark Lloyd, the chief diversity officer... at the FCC views the media marketplace, meaning he doesn't like any private ownership of media. His quote with regard to the First Amendment is a little disturbing. To the extent commercial activities are given First Amendment protection, it makes the rule of capitalism look increasingly off in the political debate and government regulation. In my view progressives need to stake out a "Democratic," remember how Lloyd used "Democratic" to describe Chavez's revolution interpretation of the First Amendment and do direct battle with the Orwellian implications of the ACLU's commercialized First Amendment. So when you are to the left of the ACLU, how far from the path have you strayed?
Good question I think. Motley goes on to explain that:
"Every time they say Democratic, think Marxist because that's what they mean.... don't forget, at the FCC when Commissioner Michael Copps was acting chairman awaiting the confirmation of Genachowski, he started a notice of inquiry which is the first step in a notice of rule making at the FCC.... They want to look at top to bottom the business of radio and television and print journalism and how the government can probably play a greater role in making it into our "Democratic" process.
So the process has started it seems. Beck then makes a comment that the FCC is now looking into making regulations to protect people from "unscrupulous bloggers" Motley replies:
"Yes, that's the view that McChesney has, that Mark Lloyd has, that all of these people have, that you can't decide for yourself. You can't look at the landscape and pick and choose what you believe, what you think, what you see as true. They're going to do the choosing for you. And that's where when you start regulating bloggers, your next step is net neutrality then your next step is regulate the entire Internet...."
So we have Mark Lloyd (Diversity Czar, Hugo Chavez sympathizer), Robert McChesney (Free Press co-founder and former Marxist nmagazine editor) and Mark Lloyd's boss, Julius Genachowski (employs former free press Jen Howard as his press secretary and also a Hugo Chavez sympathizer) favor shutting down and breaking up several news agencies, independent journalist and bloggers in the name of diversity.
Never before in the history of the world has news been more plentiful. Thanks to the Internet, television, radio and printed publications a person can virtually have whatever information they are looking for at a moments notice. The current administration wants to put a strangle hold on information by nationalizing the news media outlets of the country by making them more diverse, and by diverse they mean anything that does not agree with their agenda.
As Americans, it is our duty to write, email, and visit your congressional representatives and all of your elected officials. The type of people exposed above have no business trying, "to fundamentally change America." Yet that is exactly what we are allowing them to do.

What makes America Great?
"...for the first time and only time in history, a country of money-and I have no higher, more reverent tribute to pay to America, for this means: a country of reason, justice, freedom, production, achievement. For the first time, man's mind and money were set free, and there were no fortunes-by-conquest, but only fortunes-by-work, and instead of swordsmen and slaves, there appeared the real maker of wealth, the greatest worker, the highest type of being-the self made man-the American Industrialist.
"If you ask me to name the proudest distinction of Americans, I would choose-because it contains all the others-the fact that they were the people who created the phrase 'to make money.' No other language or nation had ever used these words before; men had always thought of wealth as a static quantity-to be seized, begged, inherited, shared, looted or obtained as a favor. American were the first to understand that wealth has to be created. The words,'to make money,' hold the essence of human morality."
The above is an excerpt of a speech in the book, "Atlas Shrugged." A very true set of ideas. The American nation has had more success scientifically and technologically then any other nation in the history of the world. All this is due to the fact that our constitution, the best form of government men have produced, gives us that ability. The American man and woman have opportunities to do any type of work or profession they choose and to excel and become the leaders of their respective fields.
For the past 100 years there have been a group of people that have preached and continue to preach under the guise of, "Equality for all," that a man's mind and the profits it reaps are the property of others. How can this be? How can the ideas of a man be the property of society? How can the monetary profits of a man belong to a society? Writers like Marx and Engels over the years have demonized the American system. They preach that your mind doesn't belong to you nor the fruits of your labor, they belong to those less fortunate.
Who today is in control of America? Is it American Industrialist, who has done more for America and in most aspects, the world as a whole? Or is it the Social Justice experts, who preach that your ideas and the profits of your ideas belong to society as a whole? Think hard America. We have a president that preaches redistribution of wealth. We have a congress that wants to tax us to death to pay for government programs such as universal health care, when it is clear that health care is a service to be purchased. We have laws against monopolies "to even the playing field," and "to give others a chance," or "to spread the wealth." These ideas are un-American.
Has anyone ever seen a poor man offer anyone a job? No! We need to put aside the ideas of social justice and fairness. They do not exist. They cannot exist. We need to release the bonds which hold back our innovators, and our industrialist. Then we can see a restoration of the American dream, of men and women with ideas, of men and women with the means to make that idea into profits, those profits, in turn will become jobs, those jobs will then become someone else's money. This is the way we will revitalize America, it will work, but only if we as a people change our mindset. We need to elect people to government who will reduce the size of government, relax regulations and taxes, and return us to the true moral course, that of the constitutional framework of the founding fathers.
